1 - MANIÈRE

Les propositions participes exprimant la manière viennent généralement après la proposition principale :

- Calculate the maximum and normal bearing loads, taking account of dynamic, static and shock loading : Calculer les charges maximale et normale des roulements en tenant compte des efforts dynamiques, statiques et dus aux chocs

- Route the feeder tubes upwards from the top of the unit, avoiding all kinks, sharp bends and loops :Faire partir depuis le sommet de la machine les tuyaux d'alimentation, en évitant tout noeud, angle aigu et boucleIl arrive cependant qu'elles soient placées avant la proposition principale :

La traduction de ces propositions participes s'effectue à l'aide d'une forme en -ant (avec ou sans locution adverbiale) ou d'une proposition commençant par ce qui + verbe (ce qui permet/autorise, ce qui entraîne/amène, ce qui se traduit par, ce qui a pour conséquence/résultat/effet, etc.), ou encore à l'aide de la périphrase avec pour conséquence/résultat/effet.

3 - RAISON

Lorsqu'elle exprime la raison, la proposition participe est placée avant la proposition principale :
